Assistant Store Manager Job Description

At Chico's FAS, we're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our team. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for supporting the Store Manager in promoting a customer-focused sales culture, where our values and guiding principles are at the forefront of all store operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze sales reports and KPIs to determine business needs and execute in-store business and sales strategies in partnership with the Store Manager.
  • Establish and communicate clear expectations, holding the store team and yourself accountable for achieving brand, performance, and behavior standards.
  • Control payroll and supply budgets, ensuring effective financial management and compliance with company policies.
  • Perform and oversee basic operational activities, including scheduling, target shrink audits, physical inventory, opening and closing duties, time sheet review, and payroll accuracy documents.
  • Ensure all register transactions are completed accurately and in accordance with company policy, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, loss prevention policies, operating procedures, and controls, conducting associate training to reinforce proper controls.
  • Administer operational processes, including inventory receipt/dispatch, daily replenishment of floor merchandise levels, and execution and preparation of physical inventories.
  • Ensure visual presentation, organization, and facility maintenance are representative of the Chico's brand.
  • Develop a high-performance culture, motivating the sales team to meet assigned sales and productivity goals.
  • Train and coach the sales team to ensure they are fluent in all aspects of product knowledge, both online and in-store.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; 2+ years of retail management experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, verbal, and written skills, with the ability to learn or adapt to technology provided by the company.
  • Proven excellent customer service skills with a statistical track record in sales and leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership qualities, training, and team-building skills, with knowledge of administrative aspects of store operations.
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers and staff, with regular attendance and flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
  • Constant walking/standing (8-hour shift).
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (1-33% of 8-hour shift).
  • Frequent climbing (34%-66% of 8-hour shift).
