Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Treatment Specialist to join our team at Wisconsin Community Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic support and guidance to youth in a state-certified crisis stabilization facility.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support and coaching to youth in a therapeutic milieu environment, promoting skill development and empowerment.
  • Conduct room checks and ensure the safety of youth during sleeping hours, adhering to clinical recommendations and protocols.
  • Perform milieu management and coaching, including one-on-one support, to help youth manage emotional dysregulation and crisis situations.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain clear communication and ensure seamless care for youth.
  • Document youth participation in activities and interactions with others, adhering to program standards.
  • Assist with meal preparation, building cleanliness, and organization, as well as monitor and support youth in completing activities of daily living.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 21 years old (at least 2 years older than the oldest resident).
  • Schedule requires flexibility with a rotation of weekend coverage.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications preferred.
  • Ability to display cultural competence and respond respectfully to people of all cultures, languages, classes, races, ethnic backgrounds, religions, and other diversity factors.
  • Valid drivers license, automobile, and insurance sufficient to meet agency requirements preferred.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a state-certified youth crisis stabilization facility, with most work done throughout the building and in the community. Local travel is required, and the ability to provide coverage as needed is essential.

Physical Demands

Duties require activity while supporting or interacting with youth in the program. Staff may be required to use trained physical interventions if there is immediate physical harm posed to youth or staff. Ability to lift 30 pounds and drive is required.
