Position: Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Contract Duration: Long-term engagement

Overview:

Apex Systems is collaborating with a leading Healthcare Insurance organization to establish a robust automation testing framework. This framework will initially be integrated with their suite of applications focused on Identity Management. Following its implementation, the automation strategy will be expanded across the organization.

The ideal candidate will be a proficient Automation Engineer, capable of selecting appropriate testing tools, engaging with senior management, developing proof of concepts, and ultimately embedding these strategies within the company. As the Senior Automation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the selection and proof of concept phases, and subsequently guide a team of Automation Engineers in constructing the testing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the development or enhancement of automation from inception, overseeing specifications, design, industrialization, and transition to production as part of a global, multidisciplinary product development team.
  • This role will emphasize standardization of automation architecture and overarching strategy in conjunction with hardware and software engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with and support various departments and external teams to ensure smooth transitions and comprehensive knowledge transfer regarding products.
  • Identify potential enhancements to business processes through information systems and/or non-system driver modifications.
  • Assess, review, and recommend various testing tools and frameworks for automation and testing.
  • Investigate advanced security technologies, promote their adoption, and create proof-of-concept frameworks.
  • Work alongside cross-functional leaders to advocate for the adoption of industry standards.
  • Provide guidance to leadership on security-related matters, systems, processes, products, and services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development or automation engineering.
  • Proficiency in at least one major programming language, such as Java.
  • Experience with open-source automation tools, including Selenium.
  • Experience in developing test plans, cases, and suites for web, mobile, and/or desktop applications.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
