KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds.
  • Examine building systems, including fire safety, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure equipment operates within design specifications and meets environmental standards set by clients.
  • Execute assigned repairs, including emergency and preventive maintenance, while maintaining accurate maintenance and repair documentation.
  • Lead troubleshooting and repair efforts for buildings and installed systems, including plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofing, drainage, and HVAC systems.
  • May oversee mechanics, technicians, and external contractors on designated projects.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, coordinating additional assistance as necessary.
  • Administer an energy management program to ensure all systems operate efficiently, minimizing operating costs.
  • Maintain the building's lighting system, including repairs or replacements of elements and ballasts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of two years of relevant experience and/or trade school training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in building maintenance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all building systems operations, maintenance, and repair.
  • Possession of appropriate licenses/permits for trades as required, such as Journeyman or Master Electrician License or City Licenses (e.g., Refrigeration Certificate of Fitness, High Pressure Boiler License, High Pressure Steam Operator).
  • Familiarity with energy management systems, techniques, and operations.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • In-depth understanding of HVAC, electrical, and building automation systems.
  • Ability to comprehend and provide general instructions in standard situations.
  • Skilled in operating necessary manual and power-driven tools.
  • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • May require shift work, overtime, and/or on-call duties.
  • Physical ability to stoop, stand, climb, and frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (e.g., pumps, tools, ladders) and safely install rigging/lifting devices.
  • May need to work extended hours without relief when addressing priority/emergency situations.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
