Position Title: School Nutrition Coordinator

Role Summary:

The School Nutrition Coordinator is essential to the effectiveness of our meal programs, offering both onsite and remote assistance. This role is well-suited for individuals with a background in food service, though we are open to training motivated candidates who share our commitment to student health and wellness.

Key Duties:

Onsite Responsibilities:

  • Conduct visits to various educational institutions to ensure adherence to nutrition regulations at both federal and state levels.
  • Facilitate onsite training sessions for food service personnel.
  • Oversee food preparation and serving processes to guarantee compliance with quality and safety standards.

Remote Responsibilities:

  • Offer virtual support and guidance to food service teams across schools.
  • Create and revise training materials and resources for staff development.
  • Evaluate program data to monitor performance metrics, expenditures, and income.
  • Maintain regular communication with school leaders and food service teams to resolve issues and provide effective solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in food service or nutrition is advantageous, but not mandatory.
  • Desire to learn and adapt to school nutrition program standards.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel to various school locations as required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and aptitude for learning new software tools.

Preferred Skills:

  • Enthusiasm for promoting healthy eating practices among students.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Experience with the National School Lunch Program is a plus.
