WIC Nutrition Program Manager

Established in 1837, Cuyahoga County's safety-net health system operates multiple hospitals, emergency departments, and health centers.
Position Overview:
This role involves engaging in both long-term and short-term program development. The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, implement, and assess strategies for nutrition services offered through the WIC program. Utilizing expertise in maternal, infant, and child nutrition, the individual will identify and address nutritional needs effectively. The position requires ensuring the competence and performance of an interdisciplinary team while adhering to Federal WIC regulations, Ohio WIC Policies and Procedures, and the Cuyahoga County WIC Program (CCWP). The candidate will uphold the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required: Must be a Licensed Dietitian (LD) as recognized by the Ohio Board of Dietetics (OBD). A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a licensed dietitian is essential. Strong communication skills and proficient computer knowledge are necessary. The ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds is crucial. Candidates should possess skills in analyzing, planning, implementing, directing, and evaluating systems programs and resources.
Preferred: Current Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) credential from the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice (ALPP). At least one year of supervisory experience is preferred. A Master's Degree in Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, or Business is advantageous. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements: The role may involve sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating intermittently throughout the day. Candidates should be able to sit or stand for extended periods and have normal visual and auditory ranges, with or without correction. Finger dexterity for operating office equipment is required. The ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds occasionally is necessary. Effective communication skills in face-to-face, phone, email, and other formats are essential. Exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and chemicals may occur.
