Job Summary

As a Sales Manager II at Service Corporation International, you will be responsible for leading a team of sales counselors to meet or exceed sales quotas, increase market share, and customer base within established budgetary levels. You will develop and implement sales strategies, provide training and coaching to sales counselors, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales quotas
Provide initial and ongoing sales instruction to ensure sales counselors meet or exceed customer needs
Manage sales counselors, acting as their primary reference for aftercare process, prospecting, product knowledge, sales presentations, closing skills, prices, terms, paperwork, sales guideline questions, compliance issues, and customer service
Analyze and be aware of competitor pricing
Develop marketing programs that complement geography, demographics, ethnicity, or religions of the community
Plan and participate in community events to develop prospects and heighten awareness of the location
Review pre-need contracts and at-need cemetery contracts to ensure compliance with HMIS, state/provincial, and federal laws
Approve discounts offered to customers
Prepare reports demonstrating compliance with financial controls

Requirements

High school or equivalent
Bachelor's degree preferred
Sales experience not required, but sales counselor and sales supervisory experience preferred
Valid state/province driver's license with good driving record
Insurance license as required by state/province law and as prescribed by each state board
Working knowledge of Windows-based PC environment and MS office applications
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work beyond standard business hours when necessary
Ability to set goals for employees that are challenging but achievable
