Location: Somers Point, NJ

Work Schedule: Per Diem

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive vascular laboratory assessments, including arterial, venous, cerebrovascular, and visceral tests, adhering to established protocols.
  • Evaluate patients, gather relevant medical history, and ensure accurate testing procedures are followed.
  • Prepare initial reports of test findings and relay results to the referring healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain thorough and precise patient documentation, including worksheets, images, videos, and both paper and electronic reports.
  • Support the technical director in developing quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and contribute to the ICAVL accreditation process.
  • Participate in the onboarding process for new staff members.
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Provide education to patients and staff regarding vascular conditions and related technologies.
  • Perform clinical workflow tasks within the electronic health record system, including charge entry.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and assist in procurement as needed.

Essential Duties:

  • Execute vascular laboratory tests in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Assess patients and gather pertinent vascular history, utilizing available resources for clinical information.
  • Conduct necessary testing procedures as per physician orders.
  • Generate accurate preliminary reports and work independently without direct supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare providers regarding test results and required follow-up testing.
  • Assist with clerical, reception, and billing tasks as necessary.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Exhibit responsible use of resources and equipment.
  • Align work with the mission statement of UPHS.
  • Participate in research studies by conducting tests according to established protocols.
  • Treat patients, families, and colleagues with respect and dignity.
  • Maintain RVT credentials.
  • Provide a patient care environment that ensures privacy and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with other vascular specialists in performing tests or interpreting results.
  • Fulfill responsibilities in accordance with Penn Medicine's values, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the department and health system.

Qualifications:

  • Required: ARDMS, RDMS, RVS, or RVT certification.
  • Required: Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Must maintain CPR certification.

Education and Experience:

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Required: Graduate of an accredited ultrasound technology program.
  • Required: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in vascular laboratory testing.
  • Required: Proficiency in performing vascular laboratory tests.
