No after-hours emergencies.

Licensed/Registered Veterinary Technician
Center Veterinary Hospital in High Point, North Carolina is a high quality, low volume care facility. We are looking to hire a proficient licensed veterinary technician to be a part of a small team of professionals with the mutual goal of providing compassionate and attentive care to each and every patient. We also aim for a stellar client experience. In joining our team, you will take a lead role in coordinating and providing patient care for outpatient and surgical/dental cases. You will aid the doctor in client communication regarding recommended treatments, diagnostics, medications, and general education and help to address their questions and concerns.

To ensure success in this position, you need to be organized, detail-oriented, be able to work independently, and a team player. Preferred applicants are motivated, positive, and empathetic.

Veterinary Technician Responsibilities:

  • Obtain detailed patient histories, triage patients, obtain vitals.
  • Gentle and proficient patient restraint.
  • Proficient venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
  • Independent surgery and dental patient preparation, surgery assistance, anesthesia monitoring, and dental cleaning.
  • Obtain quality digital radiographs. Ability to obtain quality dental radiographs a plus.
  • Operate autoclave, microscope, inhouse laboratory bloodwork equipment.
  • Ability to efficiently do nail trims and anal gland expression.
  • Set up and read fecal and ear cytology samples, set up skin cytology and aspirate samples.
  • Obtain and process laboratory specimens for outside laboratories and inhouse snap tests.
  • Calculate medication dosages and medication administration.
  • Enter service charges, medication labeling and preparation, medical record completion.
  • Review surgery and dental dismissals, medications, and educational materials.
  • Efficiently treat patients with Class IV laser therapy unit.

Veterinary Technician Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology from an accredited school or program.
  • 2+ years of work experience as a veterinary technician.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Outstanding people skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Team player.
