Job Overview

Joint Research and Development, LLC is looking for a dedicated Laboratory Technician to provide comprehensive onsite support at a leading research facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Laboratory Operations:

  • Assist with routine operational duties such as cleaning, supply procurement, inventory management, and sample packaging.
  • Facilitate the preparation and distribution of sampling test kits.
  • Support scientists in conducting viability assessments, authentication, and characterization of biological materials.
  • Contribute to the preparation and propagation of various biological specimens under sterile conditions.
  • Engage in validation tasks and other activities within containment zones as necessary.

Data Handling:

  • Ensure accurate data entry into digital management systems.
  • Assist in data integration and management processes.
  • Support technology transfer initiatives between various data systems.

Equipment Monitoring and Safety:

  • Oversee laboratory equipment functionality and report any malfunctions.
  • Exhibit proper laboratory safety practices, including the handling of chemicals and biological materials.

Team Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work effectively with scientists, biorepository staff, and contractor teams across multiple federal agencies.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with 7+ years of relevant experience OR an Associate's Degree with 4+ years of experience OR a Bachelor's Degree with 1+ year of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques.
  • Due to biosecurity protocols, candidates must not have ownership or work experience with cloven-hoofed animals, rabbits, pigs, or chickens.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with full-time residency in the United States.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License is required.
  • Must complete a medical examination and vaccinations as necessary.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening is mandatory.
  • Travel may be required to designated locations as part of job duties.
  • Compliance with all federal facility regulations is essential.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods in a laboratory setting is necessary.
  • Capability to sit for prolonged periods at a workstation and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Due to biosecurity protocols, candidates must not have ownership or work experience with cloven-hoofed animals, horses, rabbits, pigs, exotic pets, or birds.

Security Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain necessary security clearances.
