Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory tests and procedures to analyze patient samples, including blood, urine, and tissue samples.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, centrifuges, and automated analyzers.
- Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals to provide critical information and answer questions.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and procedures in the field of microbiology.
- MT (ASCP) or MLT (ASCP) certification or eligibility to sit for the exam.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records and medical terminology.
- Intermediate computer skills and excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods and lift, push, and pull heavy equipment.
The Medical Laboratory Technician - Microbiology will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, surrounded by state-of-the-art equipment and technology. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a team environment.
