About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Visit Specialist to join our team at Presbyterian Rust Medical Center. As a key member of our clinical operations team, you will play a critical role in coordinating patient care and ensuring seamless transitions between healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and follow orders entered into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) by clinicians
  • Schedule return visits, lab, radiology, STAT & ASAP appointments, and advanced imaging
  • Obtain prior authorization/referral per payor protocols
  • Validate patient MyChart access and print AVS as applicable with double check for HIPAA privacy
  • Collect backend patient balances, such as high deductible
  • Communicate effectively with ordering clinicians when any restriction, such as access, restricts or prohibits scheduling as ordered
  • Perform appointment reminder calls and other duties as required
Requirements
  • Minimum 18 months experience in a clinical setting with significant MD interaction
  • Proficiency in prior authorization/certification/referral process
  • Must pass EPIC competency for Registration at completion of Epic Clerical Training class
  • High school or equivalent, with short-term training in Medical Terminology and familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding
