Position Overview:

As the Community Engagement Coordinator, you will be instrumental in promoting the mission of the Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House by leading initiatives that enhance community involvement, program oversight, and client assistance. Your role will involve building connections between our organization and the diverse communities we serve, ensuring that all individuals feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Engagement: Design and execute strategies to effectively connect with residents, community organizations, and stakeholders to cultivate meaningful relationships and partnerships.
  • Public Housing Client Engagement: Act as the primary liaison with the Cambridge Housing Authority, assisting residents with their needs.
  • Program Management: Manage the planning, execution, and assessment of community programs and initiatives, ensuring they align with organizational objectives.
  • Client Support: Offer compassionate and culturally sensitive support to individuals and families accessing services, linking them with resources and advocating on their behalf.
  • Communication: Serve as a key point of contact for community members, effectively communicating the mission, values, and services of the Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House through various channels.
  • Collaboration: Work with staff, volunteers, and partners to identify emerging community needs and opportunities, developing innovative solutions and programming to address them.
  • Data Management: Maintain precise records and data on community engagement activities, program outcomes, and client interactions, using this information to guide decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Event Development and Support: Assist in the planning and execution of special events, including community pride days, food drives, holiday gift drives, and other significant gatherings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, community development, or a related field (Master's degree preferred but not required).
  • Demonstrated experience in community engagement, program management, or a related area.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport and trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information to varied audiences.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion, with a passion for empowering marginalized communities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with database management systems.
