Bilingual Outreach Coordinator

Fenway Health is seeking a highly motivated and culturally competent Bilingual Outreach Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of harm reduction principles and be fluent in two languages, including English.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct street and mobile outreach activities with active drug users in high-risk areas, providing harm reduction information and referrals.
- Distribute safer sex and injection supplies, collect used syringes for safe disposal, and provide vein and abscess care advice.
- Provide HIV/HCV/STI testing, counseling, and education, as well as referrals to support services.
- Train clients and community groups on overdose prevention and naloxone use.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations and advocate for harm reduction policies.
- Minimum two years of relevant work experience, or a Bachelor's degree plus relevant experience.
- Fluency in one other language besides English (Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Portuguese).
- Experience conducting street and mobile outreach with at-risk populations.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Previous experience with data collection and entry.
- Previous experience implementing support groups and trainings.
- Familiarity with electronic databases.
- CPR certification or willingness to be trained.
- Significant knowledge of health-related issues facing injection drug users.
- Ability to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Travel to community events and venues, including on late evenings and weekends.
- Sit at a computer station and use a keyboard for extended periods.
- Ability to keyboard for extended periods.
- Requires handling average-weight objects up to 15-20 pounds, and occasionally assisting patients.
