Job Summary:Assist in overseeing and directing financial activities of the hotel, ensuring asset protection and preparing financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Administer the Finance Department.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and reconcile ledger account statements, including bank statements, assets, liabilities, and credit cards.
- Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
- Perform General Cashier duties, including daily deposits, petty cash, and cashier audits.
- Prepare monthly journal entries.
- Administer bank downloads and transfers.
- Prepare monthly EMON bill for the Management Company.
- Coordinate and review monthly financial statements for accuracy, monitoring coding of cash receipts.
- Oversee monthly forecast preparation and assist with annual budget preparation.
- Direct and supervise finance staff, including maintenance of payroll records, and perform their duties in their absence.
- Direct the monthly closing process to be completed within established guidelines.
- Review tax returns to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Prepare monthly accruals, including utilities and telephone accruals.
- Monitor records of inventory to control accuracy of supply distribution, acting as liaison to all operating departments.
- Assist the Director of Finance in internal daily audits of cash deposits and transfers.
- Ensure compliance with hotel and corporate policies and procedures.
- Responsible for Crunch gym and Beneflex enrollments.
- Responsible for the sale and reorder of staff movie tickets.
- In the absence of the Director of Finance, attend departmental meetings to stay informed and provide input.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with guests, management, and co-workers.
- Ability to provide high-quality communication and be technologically proficient with Microsoft Windows applications.
- Prioritize and organize work assignments, with timely follow-up and execution.
- Excellent time management skills, effective communication with customers and team.
- Ability to compute complex mathematical calculations.
- Knowledge and understanding of Atelier & Ace Culture & initiatives.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel services and features.
- Perform special projects as assigned by the Director or Corporate Director of Finance.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a four-year college degree is required. Computer programs knowledge, such as Word, Excel, and OPERA, is necessary. A minimum of 12 months of management experience in a mid-size hotel is required.
Language and Mathematical Skills:- Ability to understand guests' service needs and requests.
- Ability to acknowledge guests' requests with a polite answer.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English with guests, management, and other team members.
- Additional foreign language is preferred.
- Ability to compute complex mathematical calculations and formulas.
- Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- College and computer training are preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for an eight-plus hour shift.
