Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of financial aid policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and university regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate aid applications for prospective and returning graduate student populations to determine eligibility using federal methodologies, exercising professional judgment when necessary.
  • Respond to inquiries via the Student Case Management system.
  • Review student Budget Adjustment Requests, assist with the awarding and disbursement of institutional financial aid.
  • Review requests for additional financial aid assistance.
  • Communicate with students and families via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Prepare and present financial aid sessions/workshops to current and prospective students and other organizations upon request.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of financial aid policies and procedures.
  • Assist with reconciliation of scheduled reports to ensure timely delivery of financial aid to students and compliance with Federal Title IV regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Federal verification and Return to Title IV.
  • Oversee Financial Aid aspects of federal work study program in coordination with SON Human Resources.
  • Frequent communication with campus administrative departments (Admissions, Registrar, and Student Accounts).
  • Attend University meetings on behalf of the School of Nursing.
  • Additional assigned responsibilities for other programs as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • One-year related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Three years of relevant financial aid/Title IV experience is preferred.
  • Experience with CSS PROFILE, IDOC, and PowerFAIDS preferred.
  • Experience with graduate students in a university setting.
