Job Title: Associate Director of Financial Aid

Notre Dame of Maryland University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Financial Aid to join our team. As a key member of the Financial Aid Office, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective dissemination of information regarding external scholarship programs to students, parents, and others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the administration of the FWS and Bonner program, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and university policies.
  • Perform Return of Title IV Calculations, providing accurate and timely results to students and parents.
  • Provide financial aid counseling to students and parents, addressing their concerns and questions in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Conduct need analysis and determine individual student eligibility for various aid programs, ensuring fairness and equity in the process.
  • Attend and participate in professional groups, seminars, and courses to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in financial aid.
  • Coordinate training for new office staff and student workers, ensuring a smooth transition and effective onboarding process.
  • Represent the University at professional, civic, education, and government meetings, promoting the University's mission and values.
  • Assist the Director with completion of financial aid reports, providing accurate and timely data to support decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; postgraduate work preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in financial aid, with a strong understanding of need analysis and verification procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to make effective presentations to large groups.
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to issues related to the recruitment and retention of a diverse student body.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data, converting it to information that can be communicated to other University personnel.
  • Strong organizational and management skills, with experience using office applications software, preferably Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with Ellucian, MDCAPS, and NSLDS is required.
