We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at Arkansas Children's Hospital. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the health and well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Observation and Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient mood, mental sharpness, sleeping patterns, eating habits, and overall function to ensure patient and employee safety.
- Vital Sign Monitoring: Directly observe and document patient vital statistics, recognizing and reporting early signs of escalation to the patient care team.
- Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate with the treatment team to ensure safe and quality care is provided, responding appropriately and safely to dangerous behavior.
- De-escalation Techniques: Apply evidence-based de-escalation techniques and strategies to support patient care.
- Patient Care Assignments: Complete patient care tasks, including vital signs, intake and output, heights, weights, head circumference, ADLs, and other patient care-related assignments, in a safe, efficient, and timely manner as delegated by licensed nursing staff.
- Environmental Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly patient/department environment.
- Admission, Transfer, and Discharge: Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients as directed by licensed staff.
- Education: Associate Degree or Equivalent Experience
- Work Experience: Related Field - 2 years of experience
- Certifications: Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT), Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Mental Health Technician (CMHT), or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
