Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team at Methodist Family Health. As a key member of our treatment team, you will provide essential support to clients and their families, working collaboratively with a network of professionals to promote positive outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Participate actively in client treatment teams, contributing valuable insights and expertise.
  • Collaborate with clients' support networks, including parents, teachers, and other professionals, to enhance treatment effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement individualized clinical and behavioral interventions, guided by client treatment plans and supervised by treating therapists.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client and family communications, ensuring timely and effective support.
  • Assist support staff as needed, securing PCP referrals, obtaining signatures, and reminding clients of appointments.
  • Provide transportation to clients and families as required, promoting compliance with treatment.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Accurately document interventions and services provided in the Electronic Medical Record, adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Check Alerts daily and respond to electronic treatment documents in a timely manner.
  • Check emails regularly and respond promptly to ensure effective communication.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a minimum of 60 hours of college education, with a bachelor's degree in a Human Service field preferred.
  • Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must have good computer skills, with experience in Microsoft Word and Excel applications preferred.
  • Must be able to document accurately and professionally.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth or other populations with special needs is preferred.
  • Must be a self-motivator, able to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be physically capable of receiving verbal and written directions.
  • Must remain current in Crisis Prevention Intervention Training, CPR, and First Aid.
  • Must be willing and able to work with all patients, regardless of gender.
  • Must be physically capable of sitting and standing for several hours at a time.
  • Must have good auditory, visual, and olfactory ability.
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Must be able to maintain effective audio, visual discrimination, and perception.
  • COVID-19 vaccination and Flu vaccination are mandatory and required for all positions.
