About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Certified Social Worker to join our team at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. As a Primary Care Behavioral Health Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing integrated behavioral health services to our patients, working closely with our medical team to promote patient health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care to patients, utilizing behaviorist/consultant skills, and collaborating with the treatment team to create and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to promote patient health outcomes, working closely with primary care physicians to address physical health and behavioral health needs.
  • Develop and revise behavioral health curriculum for family medicine residents, ensuring content is up-to-date and aligns with current best practices.
  • Work closely with clinical team members and health students to provide education, consultation, and support in incorporating behavioral health into primary care practice.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and make necessary adjustments.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in behavioral health and attend relevant conferences and trainings.

Requirements:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
  • Arkansas licensure as an LMSW, LCSW, LPC
  • Clinical Expertise: Possesses strong clinical skills, including assessment, diagnosis, and intervention strategies for behavioral health issues.
  • Behavioral Health Curriculum Development: Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive behavioral health curriculum for family medicine residents.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with physicians, nurses, and other clinical team members to provide integrated care.
  • Effective Communication: Proficient in verbal and written communication, including counseling, educating, and advocating for patients.
