Our Mission:
We are on the lookout for a passionate and scientifically-driven Lead Research Scientist I to become a vital member of our Biology team. The selected candidate will be instrumental in designing and executing both in vitro and in vivo experiments aimed at elucidating and distinguishing the biological impacts of our small molecule therapeutics, thereby propelling our drug discovery initiatives forward. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in cancer biology and relevant experience within a drug discovery context. Additionally, the successful applicant will demonstrate a strong dedication to team achievements, possess the ability to collaborate effectively, and manage multiple projects concurrently. This role is tailored for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and are deeply committed to laboratory-based research and innovation. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct cell-based experiments to support the identification, validation, and differentiation of small molecule protein degraders, employing a diverse array of laboratory techniques, including mammalian cell culture, Western blotting, cell-based genetic engineering (lentiviral, CRISPR, RNAi), and flow cytometry.
- Oversee contract research organizations (CROs) for outsourced tasks, encompassing both in vitro and in vivo studies.
- Stay informed and integrate current literature related to targeted protein degradation and specific areas of interest.
- Independently design, execute, and summarize findings from key experiments to advance projects.
- Maintain comprehensive written records of laboratory work, data, and conclusions, and communicate results clearly and concisely.
- Contribute to the organization and upkeep of the laboratory environment.
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a research laboratory setting.
- Preferred background in cancer biology.
- Self-driven, eager to learn, with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, organizational capabilities, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Extensive experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques is essential.
- Proficiency in using software tools such as PowerPoint and Microsoft Office for data analysis and figure creation is required.
