We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Scientist to join our team at VHB. As a Senior Environmental Scientist, you will be responsible for leading local, state, and federal wetland permitting applications and assisting with public involvement activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead local, state, and federal wetland permitting applications and assists with public involvement activities
- Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish needs and discuss permitting issues
- Work within or lead a team of professionals to conduct a wide array of ecological, wildlife and water resources related studies and analysis for a multitude of environmental, land development and energy (transmission and renewables) projects
- Conduct detailed and robust alternatives analyses to support permit applications
- Data analysis and technical report writing
- Conduct and be capable of leading a team in the field delineating wetlands and watercourses on various project sites and for a variety of market sectors in accordance with state and federal procedures
- Bachelors degree in environmental science, natural resources, wetland science, soil science, ecological sciences, or related field preferred
- 5-8 years of professional environmental consulting experience, including experience conducting wetland delineations and state and federal natural resource permitting required
- 8-11 years of environmental consulting experience preferred
