As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and contributing to several ongoing and emergent projects, including the development and design of therapeutic screening tools and the development and synthesis of multi-functional imaging agents.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Synthesis: Design, synthesize, and purify organic and inorganic compounds for biological and medicinal applications.
- Analytical Tools: Independently identify and use analytical tools to assess chemical and physical properties and interpret data to gain reaction understanding.
- Laboratory Leadership: Establish a strong laboratory presence, serve as an expert in the laboratory, executing on program and chemistry strategy, and provide scientific mentoring and technical training of team members.
- Troubleshooting: Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Research and Development: Using available data sets and in silico tools to generate novel, testable hypotheses and target molecules to enable clear decision making.
- Project Management: Lead and/or contribute to multiple chemistry projects simultaneously from the earliest stages through to clinical development.
- Documentation and Communication: Peer review notebooks, analytical methods, deviations, protocols, reports, SOPs, and any other lab document. Prepare presentation materials and clearly communicate research results to manager and at internal/external meetings.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify emerging opportunities and develop innovative solutions.
- Education: PhD in Chemistry or related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in organic chemistry, with a strong background in bioconjugation chemistry and air-sensitive synthetic methods.
- Skills: Experience with the selection and application of appropriate purification techniques and analytical tools, strong skills in troubleshooting synthetic reactions and lab instrumentation, and ability to work independently and as part of a team effectively.
