Postdoctoral Researcher in Biological Chemistry

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join our team in the Department of Biological Chemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects in the areas of redox biology, molecular mechanisms driving condensate formation, and drug resistance mechanisms in cancer.
Responsibilities:- Conduct research in the laboratory of Dr. Keriann Backus, focusing on the development of novel chemoproteomic techniques and their application to the study of cancer biology.
- Design and execute experiments to investigate the functional and druggable proteome, using state-of-the-art mass spectrometry-based chemoproteomic techniques.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of chemists and biologists to define the functional and druggable proteome.
- Present research findings at national and international conferences, and publish research results in top-tier scientific journals.
- Ph.D. in Chemical Biology, Biochemistry, Cancer Biology, Cell Biology, Systems Biology, Computational Biology, or related disciplines.
- Experience with data analysis, cell culture, molecular biology, and/or proteomics is preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a highly inclusive team environment.
