Job Summary

The Night Auditor is a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's front desk during the overnight shift. As a Night Auditor, you will be responsible for preparing and disposing of all Night Audit work, including registering guests, making reservations, and balancing transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register guests and make reservations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prepare and balance daily reports, including revenue and expense reports.
  • Conduct security walks to ensure the safety and security of our guests and staff.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our guests, responding to their needs and concerns in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Work closely with other departments, including housekeeping and maintenance, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including guest information and financial reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including training new staff members and participating in quality control initiatives.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • College course work in a related field helpful.
  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial software.
  • Must be able to problem solve and troubleshoot in order to resolve guest issues and respond to emergency situations.
  • Must be proficient in Windows operating systems and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.
  • Must be able to work in a self-managed environment.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
