Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Support Specialist I/II to join our team at Oklahoma Human Services. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in child support enforcement, accounting, legal, or social work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze child support cases to determine the appropriate establishment and enforcement actions.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of payment, legal pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Update computer records, perform locate activities, and document case activity.
  • Negotiate settlements and agreed orders between parties.
  • Mediate disputes and resolve issues related to child support payments.
  • Monitor and manage case logs to ensure timely and efficient processing.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Child Support Specialist I:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • OR an associate's degree in Legal Assistance or a closely related program of paralegal education.
    • OR completion of an American Bar Association-approved paralegal education program.
  • Child Support Specialist II:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus one year of professional experience in child support enforcement, accounting, legal, or social work.
    • OR a master's degree or Juris Doctorate degree.
    • OR an associate's degree in Legal Assistance or a closely related program of paralegal education and two years of qualifying experience.
