Job Title: Customer Service Representative
Department: Retail Banking
Reports To: Customer Service Supervisor
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative at UNIFIED BANK. As a key member of our Retail Banking team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, processing bank transactions, and recommending products and services to meet their financial needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide warm, friendly, and courteous service to our customers by processing bank transactions in an accurate and timely manner. Utilize the Acknowledgement Rule, the Two Ring Rule, and the Sundown Rule to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Cross-Selling: Regularly attempt to cross-sell other products by asking for the business, being alert to customer needs through listening skills, and suggesting products that would be of benefit to our customers.
- Transaction Processing: Receive commercial/personal checking/savings deposits and loan payments, verify cash, endorsements, and post and stale dates, and enter all information into the bank's computer system before issuing a receipt.
- Check Cashing and Sales: Cash and process checks in accordance with the Check Cashing Policy, sell cashiers checks, and cash advances in accordance with procedures.
- Cash Handling: Accurately maintain cash/coin drawer to ensure daily balancing in accordance with all policies and procedures.
- Vault Operations: Attend vault to process teller transactions, order money, monitor cash limits, and ensure an accurate daily balance.
- ATM Maintenance: Assist with ATM maintenance and balance ATM on a weekly basis, if applicable.
- Customer Assistance: Assist customers to and from safe deposit boxes and obtain proper signatures, if applicable.
- Transaction Scanning and Balancing: Scan, proof, and balance all transaction items as needed.
- Customer Information Management: Maintain customer information files and file paperwork as needed.
- Phone and Sales: Answer incoming phone calls and make outgoing phone calls for customer follow-up, marketing, and sales purposes.
- Check Order Processing: Process check orders through the bank's check vendor ordering system.
- Account Opening and Closing: Responsible for opening and closing savings and checking accounts, CDs, IRAs, and safe deposit boxes in accordance with bank policy and procedures.
- Community Service: Participate in community service events when appropriate.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Cooperate with, participate in, and support the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Workplace Conduct: Abide by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education: High School diploma or equivalency
Experience: Prior cash handling experience and prior customer service experience
Skills: Excellent business communication skills, both verbal and written, general computer skills, proficient typing skills, and experience with Microsoft Office
