Job Summary

The Behavior Management Assistant plays a crucial role in our Behavioral Services Program, working closely with consumers and their families to implement behavioral intervention plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement behavioral intervention plans for assigned consumers, teaching techniques and transferring skills to consumers and their family members/caregivers.
  • Gather data using scatter plots and ABC Data Sheets, incorporating information into consumer Behavioral Intervention Plans in collaboration with the Behaviorist.
  • Collaborate with Program Manager, Behaviorist, regional center, consumer, and consumer's family/caregivers in developing and implementing consumer behavioral intervention plans.
  • Provide regular updates to the Behaviorist and Program Manager on consumer progress towards Behavioral Intervention Plan objectives, making modifications as needed.
  • Apply confidentiality regulations and practices in everyday tasks.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working in the human services field, providing direct service/care to individuals.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal direction.
  • Quick-learning ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities and address their behavioral challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with relevant coursework and training, or:
  • Completed a minimum of twelve semester units in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and have at least a year of experience in designing and/or implementing behavior modification intervention services.

Physical Requirements:

Employees in this position must have the ability to:

  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift/carry up 15 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, bend, reach overhead, grip/grasp, pull, and push.
  • Ambulatory status (ability to independently remove self from potential hazards).
