About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team at Maxim Healthcare Services. As a Behavioral Support Specialist, you will work with children and/or adults with developmental delays and challenging behaviors, providing one-to-one-behavior intervention services and implementing daily program activities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide behavioral intervention services to individuals with behavioral challenges
  • Assist with daily program activities, including self-help, communication, social, cognitive, motor, and behavior interventions
  • Assist clients with personal care activities, including bathing, oral hygiene, meal preparation, dressing, and ambulation
  • Implement and collect data on behaviors and goals outlined in the Behavior Support Plan
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous experience working in an educational or healthcare setting preferred
  • At least one year of experience working with children/adults with special needs who display challenging or aggressive behaviors
  • College coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral sciences, or related field preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
