Medical Office Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our Cardiology team at MyMichigan Health. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cardiology department, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule cardiology and electrophysiology procedures, including complex and high-risk procedures, ensuring accurate coordination with other specialists and equipment representatives.
- Coordinate patient care, including educating patients and families about testing and procedures, and assisting with navigation through procedure processes.
- Manage providers' daily schedules in Epic and Outlook, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Provide coverage for front office team members as needed, including patient check-out and answering incoming calls.
- Manage Epic work queues, ensuring timely and accurate processing of patient information.
- Assist with creating and updating procedure forms, working with the MMG Forms Committee for approval.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a cardiology or related specialty practice, with a strong understanding of medical terminology.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Medical Assistant (MA) certification preferred.
This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to stressful situations and potentially infectious materials. The ability to wear personal protective equipment, including latex materials, is required.
