Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at MyMichigan Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage patient calls and schedule urgent/emergent add-ons
  • Greets patients and performs routine pre-examination procedures, including vital signs and assessing and recording objective and subjective data
  • Updates and maintains accurate patient records, including orders reconciliation and secure messaging
  • Assists providers with examinations and procedures
  • Prepares and cleans patient areas, sets up equipment, and disposes of contaminated supplies
Requirements
  • BLS - Basic Life Support certification required within 3 months of hire or transfer
  • MA CERT - Medical Assistant certification required
  • Active certification/licensure in one of the following: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or equivalent Medical Assistant Credential
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a physician clinic setting
  • Knowledge of medical office policies, practices, and procedures
Working Conditions

Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief, and death. Able to wear personal protective equipment, including latex materials or appropriate substitutes if required for your position.
