Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Mid Michigan Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage patient calls and schedule urgent/emergent add-ons
  • Support and direct patients for consults and/or testing and insurance pre-certification and documentation
  • Perform routine pre-examination procedures, including vital signs and assessing and recording objective and subjective data
  • Update and maintain accurate patient records
  • Assist providers with examinations and procedures
  • Prepare and clean patient areas, set up equipment, and dispose of contaminated supplies
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire
  • Medical Assistant (MA) certification
  • Knowledge of medical office policies, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Working Conditions

This role requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting, as well as the ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. You will also be required to wear personal protective equipment and follow MyMichigan Health's blood-borne pathogen and TB testing protocols.
