About the Senior Assurance Specialist Position

The Senior Assurance Specialist will oversee audit and other attest engagements, including planning, supervision, and review.

In this position, you will:

  • Prepare both basic and intricate financial statements along with all deliverables for clients.
  • Adhere to deliverable timelines, identify obstacles, and comprehend critical milestones to meet client service expectations.
  • Supervise and mentor engagement team members.
  • Delegate effectively to ensure team members have opportunities for growth and advancement.
  • Stay updated on accounting and auditing standards.
  • Conduct yourself professionally in all client and team interactions.

To excel in this position, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting (or a related field that qualifies you to sit for the NYS CPA examination).
  • A minimum of four years of experience. Experience in private industry or public accounting is advantageous.
  • Experience in government, commercial, not-for-profit, and employee benefit plan sectors is beneficial.
  • CPA licensure or a plan to obtain it.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Caseware Working Papers. Familiarity with other accounting software is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a language comprehensible to our clients.
  • The ability to gather and analyze data.
  • Critical thinking skills to seek innovative solutions while demonstrating objectivity and realism.
  • Outstanding client service abilities, including the capacity to persuade and connect.
  • The ability to project confidence through leadership skills to earn the respect of our clients.
  • The capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • An understanding of when and how to work efficiently.
