Position Overview

AECOM is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Engineering Discipline Lead for immediate employment in our upstate New York offices.

The selected candidate will be part of AECOM's Transportation Business Line, engaging in a range of design-build civil engineering projects for various governmental and private sector clients.

Projects will span across New York State and nearby regions. While the role will involve some travel to project sites and client meetings, it is primarily an office-based position.

The candidate will collaborate closely with colleagues to achieve project objectives and adhere to company standards.

This role includes managing project or structural tasks on significant projects and supervising a team of professional and entry-level engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership in specialized areas.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of engineering principles across diverse assignments.
  • Independently resolve technical challenges and represent the organization in discussions.
  • Plan and coordinate work while addressing critical issues and new concepts.
  • Apply advanced techniques and adapt theories from related fields.
  • Guide teams on overall objectives and policy matters.
  • Receive direction on unique conditions and developments.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with NYDOT / NYSTA standards.
  • Familiarity with local municipal and state clients.
  • Design-build experience and knowledge of local contractors.
