AECOM is seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee our Remediation division. This role is pivotal in our Latham, New York office, where you will collaborate with a diverse array of technical experts across various disciplines to provide remediation consulting services to our esteemed clients.
The ideal candidate will take on leadership responsibilities within projects and the department, fostering robust relationships with both team members and clients to facilitate the exploration of new business opportunities. Effective communication with project team members, clients, site personnel, and office management is essential, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive project team.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the success and development of the team, strictly adhere to safety protocols, manage the technical, budgetary, and scheduling aspects of project execution, and ensure the quality of field operations and project outputs in alignment with the AECOM Quality Management System.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the NY/NJ Remediation Area Manager and other teams within the Remediation department, as well as professionals from other AECOM business lines.
- Lead a team within the Remediation department, supporting the NY/NJ Remediation Area Manager in achieving growth targets.
- Drive business development efforts, including marketing and proposals to both potential and existing clients, playing a crucial role in securing and managing client relationships and contracts.
- Serve as Project Manager for large, intricate projects, overseeing technical delivery, schedule adherence, fiscal management, client communication, reporting obligations, and coordination with project team members.
- Prepare and coordinate written reports, work plans, and technical memoranda; analyze data and formulate substantiated conclusions.
- Identify opportunities to enhance project efficiencies, refine technical methodologies, and add value to client service offerings.
- Support the development and mentoring of junior staff through guidance and training.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, accompanied by 6 years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Possession of a New York State Professional Engineering license.
- A valid U.S. Driver's License and the ability to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review as a condition of employment.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Geology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Over 10 years of pertinent experience in an engineering consulting environment.
- Proven track record as a seller-doer with experience in business development and client management.
- Experience as a project manager and technical lead on remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial design, and oversight of remedial actions.
- Familiarity with delivering remedial projects within the framework of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
- Strong understanding of remediation system design, cost estimation, construction, and operations, maintenance, and monitoring (OM&M).
- Knowledge of federal and local environmental regulations, including CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, and others.
