Job Overview

AECOM is seeking a skilled Project Manager to enhance our Remediation division. This role will be based in our Latham, New York office, where you will collaborate with a diverse group of technical experts across various disciplines to provide remediation consulting services to our valued clients.

The ideal candidate will take on leadership responsibilities within projects and the department, fostering strong relationships with both team members and clients to drive new business opportunities. Effective communication with project teams, clients, site personnel, and management is essential, as is the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

The selected candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the success and development of the team, rigorously adhering to safety protocols and managing the technical, financial, and scheduling aspects of project execution. Additionally, they will ensure the quality of field operations and project outputs in accordance with the AECOM Quality Management System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with the NY/NJ Remediation Area Manager and other teams within the Remediation department, as well as professionals from other AECOM business lines.
  • Lead a team within the Remediation department and assist the NY/NJ Remediation Area Manager in achieving growth targets.
  • Engage in business development activities, including marketing and proposal preparation for potential and existing clients, playing a crucial role in securing and managing client contracts.
  • Serve as Project Manager on large-scale, complex projects, overseeing technical delivery, schedule adherence, financial management, client communication, reporting, and coordination with project team members.
  • Prepare comprehensive written reports, work plans, and technical memoranda; analyze data to formulate well-supported conclusions.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance project efficiencies, refine technical methodologies, and add value to client service offerings.
  • Support the development and mentoring of junior staff through guidance and training.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field, coupled with 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Possession of a New York State Professional Engineering license.
  • A valid U.S. Driver's License and successful completion of AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review as a condition of employment.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Geology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Over 10 years of pertinent experience within an engineering consulting environment.
  • Proven track record in business development and client management.
  • Experience as a project manager and technical lead on remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial design, and oversight of remedial actions.
  • Familiarity with delivering remedial projects within the framework of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
  • Strong knowledge of remediation system design, cost estimation, construction, and operations, maintenance, and monitoring (OM&M).
  • Understanding of federal and local environmental regulations, including CERCLA, RCRA, and TSCA.
