Key Responsibilities- Payroll Administration:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for 1,200+ employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Manage payroll-related tasks, including data entry, wage calculations, deductions, and back-end review and reconciliation.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports as required, maintaining confidentiality and security of payroll information.
- Assist with internal, external, and workers' compensation audits, collaborating with the People and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
- People Operations Support:
- Address employee and manager inquiries regarding payroll, compensation, performance management, benefits, and paid time off.
- Review and assist with leave calculators, with a focus on intermittent leave calculations.
- Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, preparing onboarding materials and ensuring accurate and confidential employee records.
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar payroll role, with a focus on multi-state payroll.
- Excellent organizational skills and a talent for accuracy.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in payroll software and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Prior experience with Microsoft Excel a plus.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with an indispensable service mindset.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Payroll, Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of successful experience in payroll administration and office support.
