About the Role

The University of Georgia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of University HR Chief of Staff and Chief Business Officer. This position is a key leadership role within the University's Human Resources department, and the successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and support to the department's leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Human Resources department, aligning with the University's mission and goals.
  • Financial Management: Manage the department's budget, including salaries, operational spending, and software expenses, ensuring effective financial management and resource allocation.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Oversee communications for the Human Resources department, including planning and implementing messaging and social media campaigns, to effectively engage with stakeholders and promote the University's brand.
  • Business Operations: Provide guidance on business operations, including scheduling, communications, and office resources, to ensure efficient and effective departmental operations.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Participate in leadership meetings and provide support to other leadership team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience: Professional experience in an office setting, with excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to deal effectively and professionally with a variety of persons at all levels of management within and external to a university environment.
  • Skills: Attention to detail and organizational skills, with proficiency in planning, organizing, prioritizing multiple tasks, and meeting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Accounting or Similar Experience: Accounting or similar experience preferred, with strong financial management, communication, and organizational capabilities.
