HR Generalist in Sacramento, CA

Location: Sacramento, CA

Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000 per year DOE

Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a skilled HR Generalist to contribute to our team in Sacramento. This role requires a proactive, organized individual who will manage a variety of HR functions, including compliance, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and more. You will play a key role in maintaining a positive work environment and ensuring our HR programs align with legal standards and best practices.


Responsibilities:

  • Track and document compliance with training programs, including safety, anti-harassment, and professional licensure
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified candidates in collaboration with department managers
  • Implement new hire orientation and onboarding experiences
  • Administer and execute HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leaves, and performance management
  • Assist with performance evaluations, ensuring accuracy and proper completion
  • Assign and track employee training and report progress to management
  • Manage FMLA and other leaves, including communication and return-to-work processes
  • Handle employment-related inquiries, escalating complex matters when necessary
  • Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Maintain HRIS system integrity, payroll, and benefits administration
  • Stay informed of HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to improve policies
  • Perform additional HR duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
  • At least 5 years of HR Generalist experience, with previous experience in the manufacturing industry required (chemical manufacturing preferred)
  • Professional Certification (SPHR or PHR) is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
