Human Resources Specialist

We are seeking a skilled HR Generalist to join our team in Sacramento, CA. This role requires a proactive, organized individual who will manage a variety of HR functions, including compliance, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and more.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure compliance with training programs, including safety, anti-harassment, and professional licensure
- Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified candidates in collaboration with department managers
- Implement new hire orientation and onboarding experiences
- Administer and execute HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leaves, and performance management
- Assist with performance evaluations, ensuring accuracy and proper completion
- Assign and track employee training and report progress to management
- Manage FMLA and other leaves, including communication and return-to-work processes
- Handle employment-related inquiries, escalating complex matters when necessary
- Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Maintain HRIS system integrity, payroll, and benefits administration
- Stay informed of HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to improve policies
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
- At least 5 years of HR Generalist experience, with previous experience in the manufacturing industry required (chemical manufacturing preferred)
- Professional Certification (SPHR or PHR) is a plus
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
