Junior Technical Analyst

Position Overview

As a Junior Technical Analyst, you will work under direct supervision to provide essential professional support in various areas, including systems analysis, to assist departments and the university community with technical solutions related to academic, research, or administrative functions. You will be responsible for resolving routine to moderately complex issues and serving as a technical resource for users and departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize discretion within established parameters to install, maintain, and support basic to moderately complex systems for end users and technology stakeholders; assess current and proposed departmental/user hardware and software systems.
  • Assist in developing and delivering individual and group training sessions for end users on new or updated technologies; may oversee or provide functional guidance to support staff and student employees.
  • Support research and development initiatives and projects involving the implementation of new technologies.
  • Participate in the review, evaluation, and recommendation of solutions for hardware and software acquisitions and network updates; maintain relevant records, including network users, security, and inventory tracking of equipment and materials.
  • Collect facts and data for the assessment of proposals that include objectives, scope, and user expectations.
  • Analyze and resolve routine complexity issues related to computer applications and systems for students, faculty, and staff across departments.
  • Evaluate the necessity for scripts to automate tasks for departments and the university community.

Conditions of Employment:
  • Specialty licensure or certification may be required, as specified by the department.
  • Successful candidates may be subject to a criminal background check prior to employment.
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and at least 6 months of progressively responsible experience directly related to the specified duties and responsibilities.

Completed degrees from accredited institutions and/or directly related experience may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Early Childhood Education
  • Knowledge of ECECD Home Visiting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
