Transmission Calibration Project Engineer

As a Transmission Calibration Project Engineer, you will be instrumental in conducting vehicle-based assessments, with a primary focus on calibration and control systems related to transmission and driveline technologies. Your specialized knowledge will significantly enhance the development of powertrain innovations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in various initiatives aimed at powertrain driveline calibration and vehicle/component enhancement.
  • Design experiments, establish data collection systems, interpret findings, and inform subsequent testing.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports and presentations to stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Execute projects with a high level of professional integrity, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and timelines while adhering to established budgetary constraints.
  • Offer on-site assistance at client locations, supporting ongoing development initiatives.
  • Utilize your practical skills to analyze and document test outcomes and calibration modifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
  • Solid grasp of transmission and driveline components.
  • Experience in powertrain/vehicle/test cell data acquisition.
  • Demonstrated collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation capabilities.
  • Proven experience in vehicle and driveline testing and calibration.
  • Capability to lead testing/calibration initiatives and mentor less experienced engineers and technicians.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with various transmission types (planetary automatic, manual, DCT, CVT, etc.).
  • Expertise in transmission/driveline and/or engine calibration.
  • Programming proficiency (e.g., Excel, Visual Basic, Matlab).
  • Knowledge of data acquisition tools and software such as ETAS INCA, CANape, CANalyzer, CSM.
  • Understanding of hybrid systems and high-voltage technologies.
  • Experience with On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) and diagnostic procedures.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Project).
  • 1-3 years of experience in related roles.
