Caregiver for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Residential Caregiver. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and care of individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in our residential program.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the evaluation and implementation of individualized programs and staff action plans, working closely with the clinical team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our residents.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, toileting, and hygienic care, as well as lifting and transferring activities.
- Ensure the well-being and care of residents by using specialized adaptive equipment, responding to changes in conditions, and participating in fire drills.
- Participate in recreational activities in the home and accompany residents to community-based activities, promoting socialization and engagement.
- Enter daily data for each resident based on their individualized plans, including changes in behavior, responses to staff action plans, goal progress, and vital signs.
- Maintain recordkeeping practices for each assigned residence, including cash journals, ledgers, medication counts, and household logs.
- Prepare meals for residents, following their individualized diet and menu plans, and encourage participation in mealtime preparations.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the residence by performing general housekeeping duties, including mopping, dusting, and laundry.
- Administer medications and treatments, documenting accordingly, and communicate pertinent information to the clinical team.
- Accompany residents to medical appointments and attend training sessions to maintain certifications and stay up-to-date on best practices.
- Adhere to the DSP Code of Ethics and meet the expectations and standards of the DSP Core Competencies.
