As a Residential Caregiver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and care of individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in our residential program.
Key Responsibilities- Person-Centered Approach: Utilize a person-centered approach to ensure the well-being and care of individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Activities of Daily Living: Perform activities of daily living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, meal preparation, and lifting or transferring activities.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments according to doctors' orders and delegated tasks under the clinical supervision of an RN.
- Individualized Programs: Implement individualized programs and staff action plans in accordance with each person's Life Plan.
- Record Keeping: Maintain records and charts in electronic format as required.
- Community Activities: Accompany people we support in community activities, medical appointments, and all other applicable activities.
- Housekeeping: Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the residence.
- Interdisciplinary Teamwork: Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team and assist in evaluating and implementing goals/outcomes.
- Communication: Regularly communicate and relay pertinent information to clinical team members, supervisors, co-workers, and other appropriate agency personnel.
- Adaptive Equipment: Ensure the well-being and care of people we support by appropriately using specialized adaptive equipment.
- Recreational Activities: Participate in recreational activities in the home and accompany people to community-based activities.
- Record Keeping: Maintain recordkeeping practices for each assigned residence in accordance with agency policies.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare meals for people supported by following each person's individualized diet and menu plan.
- Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the residence by performing general housekeeping duties.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications and/or treatments and document accordingly on each person's Medication Administration Record (MAR).
- Medical Appointments: Accompany each person as needed to their medical appointments.
- Training and Certification: Attend and actively participate in and successfully complete all required training sessions. Maintain certifications as needed.
- Code of Ethics: Know, understand, and follow the DSP Code of Ethics. Meet the expectations and standards of the DSP Core Competencies.
