POSITIONSUMMARY:

This role is pivotal in coordinating, assisting, and supervising the production materials, shipping, and receiving operations. The individual in this position will lead the materials team and engage with inbound and outbound planners regarding the ASN process.

The Team Leader is tasked with fostering team development and spearheading continuous improvement initiatives utilizing lean manufacturing methodologies, such as 5-S and waste reduction strategies.



KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:

Conducts and leads safety meetings to promote safety education, perform risk assessments, and manage accident investigations and related safety activities.
Mentors team members on compliance with safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE, daily safety inspections, and workplace evaluations.
Identifies, coordinates, and addresses safety concerns while facilitating Behavior-Based Safety observations.
Ensures adherence to standard operating procedures by all team members.
Allocates team members for shifts based on the materials plan, training requirements, and skill assessments.
Continuously monitors team performance and promptly addresses any production irregularities.

Communicates effectively with all team members and the succeeding shift Team Leader regarding any operational issues or concerns arising from the shift.

Provides timely and constructive feedback to assist team members in enhancing specific skills necessary for task completion or problem resolution.

Escalates pertinent issues and achievements to the Group Leader as required.
Analyzes inventory discrepancies and formulates improvement action plans.
Organizes team members to conduct daily inspections and maintenance on production equipment.
Implements the 5S strategy, focusing on cleanliness, visibility of issues, and standardizing processes for all team members.
Develops a 5S improvement strategy for warehouse and external areas.
Initiates, develops, leads, and executes continuous improvement plans.
Trains and cultivates multi-skilled team members.
Performs other duties as assigned that align with the responsibilities of a Team Leader level position.

POSITION

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Materials Team Leader
Prior experience in an automotive manufacturing setting is preferred.

SKILLS:
Familiarity with receiving processes, OSD Forms, and ASN procedures.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP, or possess a proven ability to learn these tools.
Capable of reading, writing, and performing basic mathematical calculations (including basic algebra, fractions, and geometry).
Must be able to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic formats.
A basic understanding of TPM principles is advantageous.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and product/process specifications.

Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.

Willingness to work extended hours and varied schedules as necessary.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, bending, reaching, twisting, and hand motions, including pushing and pulling.
Good visual acuity.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
Skin exposure to chemical-based fluids such as coolant, drawing compounds, and lubricating oils.

This role is primarily performed on the production floor and may involve multiple machine areas/booths.
Exposure to varying temperatures (cold to hot).
Infrequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
Fast-paced work environment.
Confined spaces around certain machines/equipment.
Wet, slippery floors in some areas.
