Coding Manager Job Summary

The Coding Manager is responsible for overseeing the inpatient and outpatient coding and data abstraction function at AtlantiCare. This role involves monitoring the coding staff, scheduling, new hire training, and participating in the annual evaluation process. The Coding Manager is also responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining coding quality monitoring, health information management compliance, and education of hospital staff involved with coding and data abstracting.

Key Responsibilities:

* Monitor and evaluate the performance of coding staff
* Develop and implement coding quality monitoring and health information management compliance programs
* Provide education and training to coding staff and hospital staff
* Collaborate with medical staff, ancillary departments, and financial services to ensure accurate and complete coding and statistical information

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management required
* Minimum 7 years HIM and Coding experience required, with 3 or more of those years in a managerial role
* CCS required
* Excellent oral and written communication skills required
