About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Risk Modeling to enhance our expanding team. You will take charge of the design, development, and execution of comprehensive quantitative models and algorithms across the organization. Your role will involve leading the research and development of proprietary models that underpin the company's lending strategies. This encompasses the creation and maintenance of mortgage models across various product categories (e.g., non-QM and home equity), as well as delivering in-depth analytics (default, prepayment, severity, and transition models) for assessing portfolio-level risk and returns.

This position is part of a small team, and the ideal candidate must be a collaborative team player, willing to engage in cross-functional projects, capable of grasping complex concepts, and able to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will possess intellectual curiosity, be a self-starter, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, and be adept at working under tight deadlines.

What You'll Do
  • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive modeling framework from inception.
  • This unique role encompasses both modeling and transformation management. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of forecasting and credit models, along with the ability to adapt to evolving business strategies or external factors within the model.
  • Lead the collection and analysis of relevant data for forecasting and model optimization.
  • Clarify the variations in forecast model outputs based on portfolio trends, planned business initiatives, and model components/assumptions.
  • Comprehend how inputs and outputs are generated and adjust inputs and outputs for scenario analysis or regression testing of the models.
  • Oversee various monthly and quarterly reporting tasks, including the preparation of presentations and documentation with a focus on accuracy and deadlines.
What We Look For
  • Advanced degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5+ years in a quantitative role within a financial services organization.
  • Proven experience in financial modeling or within the financial sector is essential.
  • Strong programming proficiency in at least one language, such as Python, R, C++, or Java.
  • Familiarity with big data manipulation and analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Spark, Hadoop) along with experience in building and deploying models in a cloud-based environment (e.g., Azure, AWS, etc.).
  • Experience with machine learning, data mining, econometric modeling, and general statistical modeling.
  • Knowledge of prepayment, default, and loss models.

For residents in CO, NY, CA, and WA, the salary range is $152,000-192,500 with potential for a 25% bonus and equity. Actual compensation may vary based on individual candidate experience and location.
