Midland Credit Management Inc is looking for a proactive Model Risk Management Analyst to enhance the company's model risk framework. This position offers a chance to influence Midland's strategic approach to model risk, a critical area for both our leadership and financial institutions globally.

The Model Risk Management Analyst will be tasked with refining and advancing the company's methodology for managing risks associated with statistical models. Responsibilities will include supporting independent model validation and enhancing governance standards. The role also involves monitoring changes in portfolio valuations over time and generating reports for executive leadership. Candidates should possess strong quantitative skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to effectively communicate insights to senior management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of current and historical portfolio valuations.
  • Generate regular reports on portfolio valuation changes for executive leadership.
  • Assist in the validation and review of statistical models.
  • Propose and implement improvements to Midland's model governance processes.
  • Develop risk controls, including model catalogs and risk tiering.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree

FIELD OF STUDY: Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related field

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES:
  • Proficiency in analytical tools such as Python, SQL, and PowerBI.
  • At least 1 year of experience in model development, validation, predictive modeling, or a solid understanding of model risk assessment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Master’s Degree or higher

FIELD OF STUDY: Statistics, Finance, Economics, or a related field

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES:
  • Experience in the financial services sector.
  • Familiarity with developing or evaluating credit models, loss models, or similar frameworks.
