Job Summary

The State Water Resources Control Board's Division of Financial Assistance is seeking an Assistant Deputy Director to head its Administration/Operator Certification Branch. The ideal candidate is dedicated to helping communities protect our water resources while building a high-performing organizational culture where staff, customers, and our partners are respected and valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the functions of and development of procedures for staff engaged in Division administrative tasks, fiscal tracking, administration of various grant and loan programs, and the Operator Certification program.
  • Manage a team of professionals and provide guidance on policy and program development.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in a government agency or non-profit organization.
  • Proven track record of success in program management, policy development, and team leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of water resources management, policy, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
