Job Description

Position Title: Clinician I (Non-Licensed)

Reports to: Licensed Clinical Supervisor

Salary Range Starting at: $70,000

Overview: The Clinician I role is designed for individuals who provide comprehensive, strengths-based, and trauma-informed case management services. This position focuses on rehabilitative skill enhancement, therapy, treatment coordination, and advocacy, ensuring clients are linked to necessary community resources as per their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct mental health services to clients approved by the agency.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all client treatment records.
  • Engage in client-centered advocacy by assessing needs, providing referrals, and collaborating with families and professionals.
  • Ensure that services are culturally sensitive and delivered in the client's primary language, incorporating relevant religious and ethnic considerations into treatment plans.
  • Document all client interactions, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring clarity and timeliness.
  • Participate in clinical meetings, educational workshops, and agency committees as required.
  • Adapt proactively to changes within the workplace environment.
  • Exhibit reliability and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Utilize educational opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility in meeting patient care needs.
  • Be available to work across various locations and during all business hours, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications: To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Master's degree in Social Work (ASW), Marriage and Family Therapy (AMFT), or Clinical Professional Counseling (APCC) is required.
  • Registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW), Associate Marriage Family Therapist (AMFT), or Associate Professional Counselor (APCC) is necessary.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Bilingual in Spanish is essential.
  • One year of post-master's experience in a clinical environment or relevant community-based organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Logical decision-making skills with a focus on outcome analysis.
  • Proactive problem-solving capabilities and effective communication with the Clinical Supervisor.
  • Comprehensive understanding of clinical theories relevant to the target population.
  • Proficient in building therapeutic alliances that are culturally competent and trauma-informed.
  • Able to perform under pressure and respond effectively to crisis situations.
  • Capable of working independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Competent in using technology, including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office Suite.
